New to Barre? Have a question about TRX? We have answers & are here to help!

Expect to be challenged. If you’ve never taken a barre class before (or even if you have), you may find that you’re working out muscles you’ve never felt before. Our goal is to get past those muscles that do 90% of the work and target the ones that don’t typically get a lot of love. We are here to motivate and encourage you to make sure you and your body get the most out of class. That seat isn’t gonna lift itself, so get in here and do the work! You can thank us later.

The classes are as hard as you make them. We guide you through the moves, but it’s up to you to push yourself to YOUR limit. Challenge yourself by sinking lower into the exercises, staying in your “war zone”, and pushing yourself to take the options when available. Don’t feel singled out if your instructor corrects your form or adjusts your body. This is meant to ensure you are getting the most of your workout and more importantly that you are performing the move safely. Getting corrected is a positive thing, letting you know that your instructor cares about you and your experience.

Smaller movements and isolations are key. Elevate’s barre classes are based on small, isometric movements that fatigue muscles to exhaustion. The smaller your movements, the harder you have to work. Avoid using momentum during the exercises, instead keeping each movement tight and contracted. You will hear the words “isometric hold”. This is simply holding your position and can be one of the most challenging parts of your class!

Shaking. Believe it or not, shaking is a good thing in our classes. If your muscles are shaking during an exercise, then you’re on the path to changing your body! The quivers are coming from that 10% of muscles that weren’t’ used to being challenged. It’s their way of fighting back and telling you to quit, but stick with it and shake yourself to a stronger you!

Get ready to sweat! TRX classes are 45 minutes of intense full-body conditioning. Designed as small group personal training, our classes combine strength work, cardio and stretching while delivering personalized attention to form, alignment, and safety.

Core and more. During the class, you will perform upper and lower body exercises that activate your core and allow you build strength, improve flexibility, balance and core stability. By using your own body weight and gravity to work every muscle in your body, you are in control of how much you want to challenge yourself on each exercise. Classes are open to all fitness levels with options that allow everyone to work at their own pace or take on more progression.

Variety. With over 800 exercises to choose from, our TRX classes will give you an effective, total body workout in each class with no chance of boredom. Infused with heart pumping music, you’ll be surprised how fast the time flies as you take your workout to a whole new level.

Wear workout pants or capris, and a tank top or t-shirt. Socks are required for all classes (Elevate barre socks are recommended and available for purchase). We have bottled water available at the studio for $1 but feel free to bring your own water. We provide the mats and equipment, as well as a changing room and lockers for your convenience
